I am reading old British crime novels on my Kindle, and hubby is at the other end of our large living room enjoying\u00a0<em>Raiders of the Lost Ark<\/em>\u00a0on our\u00a0amazingly big,\u00a0second-hand\u00a0flat screen TV. Each of us has a sleeping dog at our feet. It is peaceful (once you\u00a0tune out\u00a0the\u00a0movie dialogue) and as I look out the window the sky is white and overcast with thick clouds, and a mist obscures the range opposite, on the other side of our little valley. The rain is coming down at a slow but steady rate. There are pools of water\u00a0on the ground, it\u00a0is sodden but the water tanks are not yet quite overflowing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A quiet rainy weekend at home, with books, an old movie, sleeping dogs and nowhere we needed to be.
