Hello, and welcome.
I’m Melissa from Queensland, Australia. I live a fairly quiet life with my husband, work part-time as a finance officer, and spend a good deal of my time supporting family. I’m especially close to my sister, who lives with disability.
I’ve always been a private person. I tend to notice more than I say, and writing has given me a way to share some of those thoughts more comfortably. I’m drawn to honesty, kindness, animals, gardens, nature and landscapes, and to the beauty captured in art, photography and music – the way they can stir something in us, or express what words sometimes cannot.
This blog has been with me since 2005. These days it is less a diary and more a collection of memories, reflections and poems – a place to keep the things I don’t want to lose. I also keep another blog, Luminosita – A Learning Log, where I document my study journey.
Some of the posts begin with my own memories and pieces of writing, which I shape with the help of AI. It helps me distil thoughts and feelings I sometimes struggle to put into words, while keeping the heart of them mine.
Thanks for being here.
