The sad loss of author Douglas Adams a few years ago meant that we never learnt the fate of Arthur Dent and his amiable alien companion Ford Prefect, who uncovered the amazing truth behind learning the mysteries of life, the universe and everything in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Did Arthur and Ford remain on pre-historic Earth with the useless Golgafrinchams or were they taken on to further adventures by a passing spaceship?

Some very exciting news is Hitchhiker’s publisher Penguin has commissioned Irish author Eoin Colfer to pen the next installment of the story. Eoin is a great fan of Douglas Adams so there is some expectation he will write in the style and spirit of the original author.

  1. Hi Liss,

I read a few Eoin Colfer books. He wrote books about a boy called Artemis Fowl.

And I also read another story of his too, but I can’t remember the name of it.

But it is about a teenage girl who is with a boy who maybe older and shortly after breaking into a house they get killed.

They then both get sent back to earth, as the girl had to help fulfill a dying man’s wishes (so that she could go to heaven.)

But the person that she died with also gets sent back to earth, as he has to do anything he can to try to stop her.

    However she ends up succeeding.
