Notebook Shopping

Helping Jo purchase her new computer. She wants it for word processing and making graphics, so needs a decent amount of memory. Budget started at around $1,000 but she’s decided to get a notebook so I think we’ll need to go over that. Needs to come with standard features (WinXP, networking/USB ports etc, DVD/CD, warranty).

  1. The ACER TRAVELMATE 2428WXMi XP-HOME Price $1,399 looks to be the best value for money. For the refurbished I would choose the IBM.

  2. Acer arrived on Monday, Jo very happy with it. Very compact and light! Helped her set it up yesterday. She is borrowing my Lexcen USB printer since the notebook doesn’t have a parallel port for her existing printer. Also giving her my copy of MS Office since she needs Publisher.
