  • New England and the Granite Belt

Just had a ripper couple of days with Mum on the road, visiting Aunty Pam and my wonderful old school buddy Olga down near Armidale in the New England region.

On our way back we spent some time at Stanthorpe, did some bushwalking at the beautiful Giraween National Park (climbed up to “The Pyramid”) and saw a fascinating dog obedience display.

The national park was full of awesome rock formations and flora, took some photos with my phone. Lot of lovely homes and gardens around Stanthorpe also, and some very friendly people. The managers at the motel where we stayed let us take home some cuttings from a gorgeous native hibiscus with a striking white bloom.

  • A Week in Armidale

Hit the road with my mum and spent a week in Armidale. Enjoyed the time away in a lovely place, where we did lots of walking. Talking about heading back down there a bit earlier next year, so we can take in the autumn colours of the place, and visit my mum’s sister Pamela again.
