  • Minding Billie

Six month old Billie is staying over Xmas

  • Getting old

Saw my brother today for the first time in 12 months and was bit shocked to see he’s got old. Guess he probably had same reaction to seeing me.

Didn’t seem real happy. Maybe tired from work, or kids, or both. Hope he’s ok.

He did seem pleased with his newest little daughter though, she was out with her mum, but he showed me some of her cute pictures. Happy little kid.

  • Avoiding society

I don’t know when it started. I guess I was always shy, with shy parents, and moving around changing schools so often didn’t help. It seems the older I get the worse it feels, this anxiety around people. I have to work real hard to feel normal, most times I’m churned up inside putting on a game face. But as I’ve got older the game face has failed me a few times. It’s lonely, and it’s depressing. It seems so silly when I rationalise, but I just can’t seem to break past it.

  • Summer Garden

Some nice sort of weather today, light rain overnight, still cloudy with the sun popping through now and then, not hot but nice. Love it when the garden gets a good watering.

    strawberries
    tomatoes, basil and cosmos
    zucchini

That zucchini looks much bigger in the photo than it did in real life!

  • Bundaberg Trip

This month Jo and I took off together for a week up at Bundaberg, staying at Lime Cottage in Burnett Heads. This was our second stay at the cottage, the first was back in 2009. A pleasant, quiet out-of-the-way spot, handy to all the places we wanted to go.

The main agenda for the week was to relax, and reconnect with Mother Nature. We spent time at Kellys Beach at Bargara, Oaks Beach at Burnett Heads and the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens. The garden at Lime Cottage is also quite lovely and serene.
