Drawspace Art Lesson D01
November 27th, 2007 @ 9:26 am

In this lesson I found out what squirkles and squirkling is as the names were made up by Brenda and is what we get when we cross squiggles with circles. Squirkling is also a method of light, medium, and dark shading or another way to put it light, medium and dark values. Also when we do a light value with squirkles the curved lines are far apart and the effect also has a lot of white space left; while a medium value with squirkles is where we draw them closer together and result is the more curved lines we draw the darker the value.

Then when we draw a dark value with squirkles, the effect leaves very little white space as that is how close the curved lines are drawn. Also Brenda ends this lesson by giving an example of a cartoon sheep to show us how squirkling can leave a three dimensional look and thought it was very effective.
