The Water HorseJanuary 22nd, 2008 @ 12:06 pm
Yesterday mum and I went to Redbank to see The Water Horse movie, and we both enjoyed it as it wasn’t too long or too short and there wasn’t any boring bits. Anyway the story is set around one of the wars and is about a boy who I think is called Angus who is missing his father and trying to fill into his boots. Also later on in the story we find out that Angus’s father is dead and so won’t be returning home. But then the boy finds this egg while he was doing some shell collecting and after he takes it home it soon hatches and Angus tries to look after it though they aren’t allowed to have any pets where they live.
Also as Angus tries to keep this creature from the sea a secret he soon realises that it is becoming harder for him, and attempts to tell his older sister but she isn’t interested; but she soon finds out and is on her brother’s side but then a handyman who just got his job finds out too and he also tries to help Angus out and later on was successful in returning Cristo to the sea but the story didn’t end there as other people also find out about the creature.
And then Cristo discovers that not everyone is kind like Angus, and is hurt when the army was firing bombs into the sea but then Angus goes with Cristo to show her the way to get away. However he couldn’t stay with her and after he swam back to the boat she jumps over the net and Cristo never returned to that place again although Angus did see her one other time in another place. I also found it quite emotional in some parts.
