They Didn’t Believe MeJune 2nd, 2008 @ 10:29 am
When mum and I was visiting nan sometime after she moved up here, I was telling them about an eagle that is found in Australia that is called: the wedge tailed eagle, and told them that it has the largest wingspan for a bird in Australia as the average length for their wings can be 2.5 metres long and they didn’t believe such a bird existed in Australia. And I also remember nan saying there are no eagles in Australia.
Then as I knew that the wedge tailed eagle does exist, I then thought to look them up on the internet to find out what other info I could find on them and found out that they are a fauna emblem of Northern Territory. And to read more about them here’s the address for one of the websites I found:

We’ve seen eagles (or they could have been hawks) flying up high in the sky many times when we’ve been on road trips – they have a distinct flying pattern. We even saw one once from our own house – Herm was worried it would swoop on Sasha!

Hi Liss,
I just been looking up whether there are any hawks in Australia on the internet today, and so far have found out three varieties of them.
The first one I found is called the Pacific Bazza, and this bird was also formerly known as the Crested Hawk.
There is also another bird that is called Osprey and this bird also has another name which is Fish Hawk: the reason they call this bird by that name is because it eats mostly fish. And then the third one is called the Red Goshawk.
