The Wizard of Rondo
October 4th, 2008 @ 11:08 am

This book is the sequel to The Key to Rondo which I also reviewed and is by Emily Rodda who is a popular Australian children book author. It is also published by Omnibus Books which is an imprint of Scholastic, and its ISBN is: 978-1-86291-792-7.

Mimi and Leo go on another adventure in Rondo (this time without Mimi’s dog) who is called Mutt. Though the first time they were in Rondo wasn’t so long ago, and that time: The Blue Queen took Mutt into Rondo because she had guessed that Mimi would do anything to get him back.

However the reason why Leo and Mimi still go there is because: The Blue Queen hasn’t yet discovered that The Key to Rondo still exists, (thanks to a bit of trickery by Mimi) and so as a way of keeping The Blue Queen from guessing the truth Mimi and Leo agreed to keep up their appearances.

But before Mimi and Leo return to Rondo Mimi is somewhere else as a talented violinist from overseas has been touring Australia, and Mimi thought she will be able to meet him. But she and Mutt return to Leo’s home early as it turned out to be a non event.

Mimi then goes to Leo’s room, and discovers that he has been winding the antique music box up (only three times everytime). And she can tell that because the pictures of Rondo that is on the music box has changed since she last looked, ( and this infuriates Leo).

However shortly after arriving in Rondo Mimi and Leo go on another quest: as something very strange had happened in a town called Hobnob. As a wizard named Bing has disappeared and no one really knows what had happened.
