This book that I’ve now read was written by Lian Hearn who is an author that lives in Australia. And this story of hers was first published in Australia and New Zealand by Hodder Australia in 2002 which is an imprint of Hachette Livre Australia Pty Limited and has been reprinted seven times.
And my copy is a paperback which was published in 2008, and its ISBN is 978 0 7336 2337 0. I’ve also been wanting to read Lian Hearn’s Tales of The Otori for quite some time. And I have brought the first and second book in the series on the same day after mum and I had gone to see the Inkheart movie.
I also wasn’t disappointed in the book as I like how Lian wrote it as it kept me turning the pages or wanting to get back to it. The story is basically about two people, although there are a few more main characters in the story and they appear as the two meet them.
It also turns into a bit of a love story and this happens when Takeo and Kaede first meet one another. But because of who they were other people had expectations for them, and Takeo especially felt obligated to fulfill what was expected of him. And this is something that I can relate to and feel that many others that have read or choose to read the books about the Tales of the Otori will too.
