A Giant Problem

This is the second book in the Beyond The Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi. And the book was published in 2008 by Simon and Schuster Books For Young Readers which is an imprint of Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing Division.

Also the copy that I have ISBN -13: 978-0-689-87132-0 and ISBN-10: 0-689-87132-5. Noseeum Jack is trying to pass on his knowledge on how to destroy the giants to Nick and Laurie but it seems that the only child that is taking him seriously is Laurie, while Nick it seems then would have happily passed on this new found responsibility onto someone else.

But later on, it seems that the solution falls squarely on Nick’s shoulders. As Noseeum Jack moves out of his house to live with his son and I guess he knew that it was useless to keep talking about the giants. As Jack’s son who is also called Jack doesn’t believe that they exist.

However, with the help of Nick’s brother Jules and Jules girlfriend Cindy and not forgetting Laurie either Nick was able to do a recording of a song that had been sung by mermaids. And why he did the recording was that Nick had learnt to not totally trust fairy folk. Then another reason is that he thought of a way that he had hoped would lure the giants into the ocean. But although Jules and Cindy have discovered that the fairy world does exist, their problems do not end there as Jared, Simon, and Mallory turn up to tell them more about the giants.
