The Fire Eternal is the fourth book that Chris d’Lacey wrote, and this book is published in Great Britian in 2007 and was again published as a paperback by Orchard Books in 2008. Also as I’ve got the paperback version of The Fire Eternal its ISBN is:978 1 84616 426 2. The Fire Eternal follows on after the events that happened in the book called Fire Star. And in fact it is now five years later and David Rain is a successful author but is thought to be dead. But Lucy Pennykettle has never given up hope that David Rain is alive in the Arctic somewhere and when Zanna gives G’Lant to her five year old daughter who she named Alexa her child suddenly now draws animals in much better quality. Such as what is thought to be G’Lant that no one can see, and she also sends her father who is David a hologram of a mammoth.
And so Alexa clearly has powers of her own. And although I found in this story that she doesn’t brags about it she is known to have dreams about her father. Meanwhile unexplained things are occurring, and not only in the Artic but also on a Scottish Island called Farlowe Island and in Scrubbley Kent itself. And after Lucy’s mum Liz gives her daughter a letter that David wrote that had an address on it, Lucy runs away to find Tam Farrell who is a journalist but when they get to Blackburn they find that there is no house and so Tam and Lucy can’t find David’s parents as they had both hoped but they do find some sort of time rift and as Zanna is there too in her attempt to drag or talk Lucy into going back home with her, Zanna ends up speaking to Arthur on a mobile and tells him that Tam had pushed her over to follow where Lucy had gone.
