Fun At Luke’s Place
July 14th, 2009 @ 3:46 pm

Luke’s Place is somewhere where people with disabilities can go, and I started going to the one at Laidley last month. Also today we did chair exercises again, then for art and craft we painted a figurine made from plaster of paris and the figurine I did was two koalas in a tree.

Then after we had lunch I was one of the ones who decided to play monopoly, and I did quite well but for a while the board game instructed me to go to jail and this also made one disabled person laugh everytime I was told to go there. Anyway, I told this person “that’s a bad habit” and this amused one of the supervisers who also agreed. And because some of the players were intellectually disabled they needed people to help them when they needed to handle their money or read a card out and as this person who kept laughing at my fate landed on the chance square I picked up a chance card for her and I had to tell myself don’t laugh as I told her to place her battleship in jail.
