A Splint For My LegApril 6th, 2007 @ 7:55 am
On Wednesday, mum had to take nan to the doctor and as it was on the same day as my physiotherapy sessions Liss took me there instead of mum. Jenny had a fibre glass splint for my right leg but I had to buy some glue and velcro as she wanted it to also keep my heel in place.
We then did some exercises, and Jenny got me to stand and she said that I was standing better than when I first came to see her for physio; she even said that my right leg was getting strronger as I could put more weight on it, and then she opened the door so that she could get me to walk up and back and while doing this I had to put my right heel down which can be done if I walk slowly Jenny also told me to swing my left leg out and this improved my walking. Liss also told me about a local disability association that she joined, and we went there and had a game of scrabble.

Hi Jo, I like the new look for your web site. Thanks for the game of scrabble the other day, even though you wiped the floor with me it was fun!

Yeah Liss, dad glued the velcro on last night and this morning mum came in with the splint, and got me to put it on. But the velcro that dad glued on last night came off and dad decided to not glue it again.
As instead mum got dad to come in as she was worried about cutting it too short, and he wrapped the velcro around my foot in two places.
It was still effective though as he put it on so tight I couldn’t move my right foot.
I’ll be wearing it tonight.
