Reading and Spelling

I could always read well. And when I was reading a book yesterday, I came across a word that I knew I have spelt wrongly when I was writing the day before. This word was definitely, and when I wrote it the other day I spelt it definately. Also sometimes I don’t pronounce words correctly, but this isn’t a big problem with me as when I talk to people and depending on what we are talking about they tell me that they can understand me quite well. But I notice that when I do mispronounce words when I’m writing, occasionally I spell some words incorrectly.

    Hi Jo. I think “definately/definitely” is a fairly common mis-spelling, you’re not alone with that one! It’s interesting the number of words that are spelt a little differently to the way they are pronounced.
