Something Mum Found Out

As mum badly sprained her ankle recently, she had to go to the doctors yesterday as it was still hurting; she then told me that she was then at the plainlands shopping centre getting puppy milk for Ilse’s porridge when she met a breeder that bred miniature schnauzers.

They then got talking, as mum told her about Ilse coming from American lines, and she informed mum that the American lines can be a bit fiesty. We didn’t know this but before we got Ilse, mum was talking to a friend that had giant schnauzers and told her that we always liked miniature schnauzers but were reluctant to get one because of the hereditary problems in the breed.

She then informed mum that this was not so much of a problem now, as quite a few professional breeders have brought out American lines and they have seemed to improve the breed genetically.

So that is one reason why I ended up getting one from American lines, and Ilse is definately not aggressive around other dogs, and she is also very people orientated; but then she can be a bit pushy, though we let Phoebe (a sheltie) put her in her place and there is no problem. I guess there is quite a few people who worry when they see an older dog put a younger dog in their place, but it is also necessary for the older dog to do it as that is how they teach puppies.

Also after I heard mum telling me that this lady told her, that the American lines can be a bit fiesty; it doesn’t worry me that much, as all that means is that the dogs coming from American lines need people that can handle them better.
