Ilsa’s Teeth
November 7th, 2009 @ 6:29 am

My three year old miniature schnauzer’s teeth are in extremely good condition. As in the mornings I give her a variety of things that are known to keep a dog’s teeth clean, and this is how I do it as one morning I might give her two small dog biscuits. Then the next morning I’ll give Ilse a denta stix to chew on and the next I’ll give her a chicken wing, and this morning I gave her a pig’s ear. Also near the end of the days I feed her a dry dog food that’s called Evo or California Natural.

I also remember that Ilse didn’t like pig’s ears when she was a pup, so I didn’t give them to her after discovering that.

But now that she’s a 3 year old thought that I’ll give her pig’s ears again, and this time she liked them! And so a dog’s taste buds must change as they get older like human taste buds do. I also read on the internet somewhere that someone thought that pig’s ears are just fat.

But I ‘ve found out that they aren’t, as it says on the front of the packet that pig’s ears are low in fat and salt.

As I went to Pet Goods Direct at Riverlink today with my mother I found a new dog treat for Ilse my miniature schnauzer. And it’s called Dr Chew and it’s a sweet potato dog treat that helps to promote healthy teeth.

It also says on the front of the packet that the treat is low in fat and calories, and is 100% digestable. This treat is also made from 100% sweet potato which is air dried and is rich in vitamins and minerals and high in dietary fibre and has no additives or preservatives.

And dogs of all sizes can have it as there is four different packets.
