This is the third book of The Obernewtyn Chronicles that Isobelle Carmody wrote and Ashling was published by Penguin Books and its ISBN number is ISBN: 9780140271515.
Ashling was also done in three parts and the first part sees Elspeth rescuing a gypsy halfblood who doesn’t want to live. But the gypsy starts responding to treatment after Kella talks Elspeth into doing something she could do and she was risking her own life to do it.
Maryon then tells Rushton and Elspeth that this gypsy has to go back to her people, so Elspeth goes on another expedition to find the gypsy woman’s people and Elspeth also has to learn what Swallow means. Elspeth decided to ask the gypsy that were in their care and she could see by the gypsy’s reaction that it meant something but the gypsy wasn’t going to say.
Elspeth also sees Brydda who talks her into attending a rebel meeting, but before going to this meeting with Brydda Elspeth finally finds the gypsy woman’s people and learns the identity of Swallow. And this is all in the second part of the story.
Though the rebel meeting that Elspeth went to wasn’t as successful, but a solution was offered by a lady that came across the sea from Sador. And her solution was that the misfits and the opposing rebels had to take part in something called Battlegames.
Then just when Elspeth thought she had to rush back to Obernewtyn to inform the others, she discovers that the people were already there. As Maryon had another vision and also in this third book Elspeth starts to think about her feelings for Rushton, but while she was on a boat to Sador Elspeth discovers and thinks that Rushton now may love someone else and her name is Freya.
