Bridge to Terabithia

This is the movie mum and I took my two nieces to today, and it is a story about a boy called Jess I think who kept a diary of his drawings, Jess was also a very quiet person that kept to himself and he could also run and I think he might have went for a run before breakfast everyday.

I also thought that he wasn’t very happy at home and he had a little sister that sort of hero worshipped him. Then one day a new student comes to his school, and her name is Leslie and she was a type of person that could make up stories and she was quite a likeable character as I liked Leslie’s attitude to life, because she didn’t seem to let anything bother her. She also lived near Jess, and a friendship develops between them, and while running together Jess and Leslie stumble upon a place that seemed real and magical only to people who let their imaginations run wild as they are the only ones who can see it.

However, unfortunately Leslie dies, and this is the part that had us all crying. I also liked how this movie ended, as Jess had a fight with his little sister, as he wanted to be alone; but then after that I think Jess realised that his annoying little sister had an imagination like Leslie, and he decides to take his little sister to the place that he discovered with Leslie.

I just discovered that this movie is also a book, and the author of the book version is Katherine Paterson.
