This is the fourth book in the Jelindel Chronicles that Paul Collins wrote, and it was published by Ford Street Publishing which is an imprint of Hybrid Publishers. Also the ISBN number for this book is 9781876462581 and in this book Jelindel realizes that Daretor’s expectations of her are too high, and we also find out about what his life was like while he was growing up as he talks about it to Zimak. Anyway, a man shows up on their doorstep in D’Loom and after talking to him Jelindel goes back to being Jaelin and goes off with this man as this place that they go to are looking for workers. And when Jaelin isn’t busy working she tries to find out what is happening, but somehow Preceptor’s men discovered that she was there, and Jelindel then gets sent to a paraworld that is hard to get out of and only the simpliest magic works.
And while Jelindel is there doing what she can, Daretor and Zimak make a pact with Fa’red as he wants to find out what Preceptor’s plans are, oh and the mailshirt which is also known as the wardragon is also in this story as it uncovers itself and is discovered by a person called Ras who puts the mailshirt on.
But then the wardragon thought that Ras wasn’t good enough for it to be a wearer, and as Ras walks in the Preceptor’s camp the mailshirt then changes hands and The Preceptor is now wearing it. However, he isn’t the person that he once was.
Also in this book Daretor and Zimak get their own bodies back, as that was the agreement that they made with Fa’red.
