Pedigree Homestyle Chicken, Rice, and VeggiesMay 22nd, 2010 @ 8:51 am
Ever since I have been giving my miniature schnauzer Ilse the Angel Eyes supplement for her once badly stained beard I have been giving her canned dog meat as it mixes in better. And I also found out from my mother that they call Pal Dog Food Pedigree now and also for every can sold they donate money to animal shelters and I think they do the same for other products they provide. There are also two other canned dog food that I give my dog and that is My Dog Chicken and Spinach and Fish For Dogs and the Fish For Dogs come in three varieties, and they are Alantic Salmon, Ocean Fish and Barramundi, and Tuna with Sardines and the fish is mixed with chicken, rice, and veggies.
I also give Ilse a can of Fish For Dogs three times a week on its own, and then other times I give her a dry dog food called California Natural Chicken and Rice with Pedigree Homestyle Chicken, Rice, and Veggies. And another canned dog food I give on its own is My Dog Chicken with Spinach.
And I also got two or three cans of Evo canned Dog Food left, and they come in Duck, Chicken, Venison, and Rabbit but since I have been getting the other canned dog food I haven’t been getting the EVO canned dog food.

Ilse has been on the Angel Eyes supplement for nearly three months now, and after the 24th of may the supplement is reduced to four times a week instead of every day and I have also decided to give Ilse dry dog food on the days that I don’t have to give the supplement.

I have noticed that I’ve been putting fish for dogs instead of Fish4Dogs.
And I discovered too that some people don’t like feeding dogs fish because they are worried about the chemicals in the sea. But I know that there are tests done on food and surely certain standards have to be met before a food is put on a shelf?
Then another thing I have read is that a person gave their dog fish only if the food had been packed in olive oil or water.
Also there are some people who think feeding dogs fish is great because they love it. And like the chemicals in the sea can be a problem, I’ve also read that feeding dogs a diet that includes raw fish can be a problem for dogs if the fish has parasites in them.
But then the fish has to have the parasites to be a problem for dogs.
Also another thing to be aware of when feeding fish is that the food could cause a thiamine vitamin B deficency. And all we can do is to continue to educate ourselves about nutrition and make choices.
As there’s one thing that I’m certain of and that is that there will be always people that give positive and negative reviews on a dog food and I would advise that if people are worried about giving their dogs a certain food then don’t feed it.
And also another thing to think about is that dogs aren’t true carnivores anyway, as they do quite well on a diet that offers them a bit of variety.
As just as there may be dogs that have owners that are aware that their dog likes to eat the same things, there are also dogs that quite like the idea of being given different things to eat.

A couple of nights ago I was telling my dad how I vary Ilsa’s meals, and dad said Ilse is in doggie heaven.
