Quite recently I have been thinking about why I liked reading The Twilight Saga that Stephenie Meyer wrote. And I guess the reason is because I’m currently reading her new book in the series which is a novella and is called The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner. Anyway why I liked Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga is because she didn’t just write about vampires that hunted people for their blood, as some of the vampires that was in her book were like The Cullens and preyed on the wildlife instead of people.

And some vampires like The Cullens pursued other interests, and taught themselves to ignore their thirst when near people, and to cover up their true identity they called themselves “vegetarians” and when they were around ordinary people The Cullens acted as if they were people themselves and not vampires.

A couple of nights ago my mother made chilli con carne, but she added sweet chilli to it, and we had it last night too. Mum was saying yesterday afternoon that she was looking forward to eating the chilli con carne and I told her that it was better than the original.

As I was going to the library I was aware that there was a busker in the street, but he wasn’t there when I went past though I heard him singing and playing a guitar while I was going through the children’s books but I don’t recall what he sang. And after doing shelf 81 to 86 I then went to try to find shelf 76 and ended up asking and shelf 76 is in the young adult section. It was also a good thing that I brought my own lunch today, as the people at Luke’s Place had a late lunch and I have to be ready to leave by twelve thirty to do the volunteer work and I was amazed at how many books I went through today.

A couple of weeks ago I asked mum to get me a cheap watch as she was going to Riverlink that day, and when she got back my mum told me that all they had that was cheap were watches for kids. So she got a battery for a watch that she had and gave it to me, and the reason why I wanted a watch is so I know what time it is when I sign myself in and out when I do my volunteer work at the library.

And I also been wearing  the watch when I go on my short walks around the yard, and today it took me twenty minutes to do ten laps, and I also been sitting out in the sun for ten minutes too.

I just recieved the ALARA newsletter a couple of days ago, and saw that I had a verse poem in. Mum thinks it is the best poem I ever written so far and the poem’s title is called Making Friends.

                                               Making Friends

  Friendships should never be forced, as that will be the very end of 
  being friends. Friendship is mutual, and should never be brutal, and
  is built upon respect as what do you expect?
 
  Friendships takes time so let it climb, as no one enjoys the company of
  bullies, but lets all live our lives fully.

  People who want to have friends should care about how others feel, as
  knowing that there are certain persons that can appreciate that appeal.
  But what if a person doesn’t want to be a friend? Well that’s okay, as
  friends are accepting, but should never be depressing.

I’ve been doing volunteer work at Laidley Library for four weeks, and Nicole told me last week that she was very happy with my work and Courtney said on Tuesday that I have been a great help. Also I found out on Tuesday that other clients at Luke’s Place Lockyer are also doing volunteer work, as one client is going to do laundry at a nursing home and another is doing fundraising.

I give my dog Ilse a Bow Wow Gourmet Pigs Ear once a week and then four times a week I give her a Pedigree Denta Stix then on the weekends I give Ilse either a Purina Beef and Bacon Dog Biscuit or a Meaty Bones Dog Biscuit and Ilsa is four years old this year and her teeth are still very clean.

And as my mum knows that I give Ilse a Pigs Ear once a week she has spoken to me about putting her dogs on them instead of bones as she knows Ilsa’s teeth are so clean. And this morning when I told her about the effectiveness of denta stix my mum said she’ll try them too.

Ever since I have been giving my miniature schnauzer Ilse the Angel Eyes supplement for her once badly stained beard I have been giving her canned dog meat as it mixes in better. And I also found out from my mother that they call Pal Dog Food Pedigree now and also for every can sold they donate money to animal shelters and I think they do the same for other products they provide. There are also two other canned dog food that I give my dog and that is My Dog Chicken and Spinach and Fish For Dogs and the Fish For Dogs come in three varieties, and they are Alantic Salmon, Ocean Fish and Barramundi, and Tuna with Sardines and the fish is mixed with chicken, rice, and veggies.

I also give Ilse a can of Fish For Dogs three times a week on its own, and then other times I give her a dry dog food called California Natural Chicken and Rice with Pedigree Homestyle Chicken, Rice, and Veggies. And another canned dog food I give on its own is My Dog Chicken with Spinach.

And I also got two or three cans of Evo canned Dog Food left, and they come in Duck, Chicken, Venison, and Rabbit but since I have been getting the other canned dog food I haven’t been getting the EVO canned dog food.

Vampires of Quentaris is by Paul Collins and is published by Hatchette Livre Australia Pty Ltd with its ISBN number being 978 0 7344 0985 0. And the main character for this story is a young man called Rad and he isn’t happy with how his town is being guarded.

Also as it turned out the town is warring with some other town, and so there isn’t very many soldiers left to guard the town well. Also I thought that Rad doesn’t have the respect of the soldiers that were left and they weren’t just disrespectful but undisaplined. And as the king is focusing so much on the war that is far away it was an ideal opportunity for his kingdom to be attacked by vampires. And when Rad found out about the vampires he finds it hard to find someone who would take him seriously. But then Rad thinks of a way to get rid of the vampires and is also helped by the Dung Brigadiers.

When I went to Luke’s Place on Tuesday we had Vegetable Tortilla Bake for lunch, and I got this recipe from a recipes+ magazine and it was for four people but six people had it. I also heard people say that this meal was very nice. Then I went to the library to do my volunteer work and when I got there I had to ask for the shelf check folder and I think they have highlighted all the shelves I do in yellow.

And when I had finished shelves 84 -86 Nicole then took me to shelf 96 or 98 and this time I had to take a row of books out and put them on the trolley then I had to check that the books were in alphabetical order, and I had to pull out the ones that weren’t and put them on the second shelf of the trolley. I also then had to put the books back in height order, and then at two thirty I took the chair that I was using back to the office or workroom and got my walker back as it stays in the workroom while I’m working. Then I took the the shelf check folder back to where I got it and signed out.
